Research and the Institutional Research Board (IRB) are time-honored partners in higher education. However, post-secondary institutions’ operations, especially branch campuses, are focused on the optimization of student development and instruction while being cognizant of capacity utilization and fiscal conservancy. It is even more important that administrators are able to articulate research findings for practical application and advocacy. This webinar is presented in two parts, a general overview of Institutional IRB and NABCA’s commitment to research.

 

This presentation will:

• address misconceptions about the IRB along with the IRB review process;
• highlight the importance of the IRB and its defense of diversity, equity, and inclusion;
• inspire collaboration between attendees’ respective IRB and their research efforts;
• ​introduce practical research methods;
• connect the importance of the IRB process for NABCA’s open research journal ACCESS and
• highlight the 2023 NABCA Annual Conference proposal submission process.
